JUST two weeks after Celtic’s League Cup final win over their Glasgow rivals do the two giants of Scottish football do battle again.

Celtic have rarely missed a beat this season, dropping points only twice in 18 matches, both draws against Aberdeen and Dundee United.

Rangers, while remaining in second place, are 14 points adrift of their cross-city rivals, having lost four games so far in this campaign.

Philippe Clement will be feeling the pressure ahead of the visit of the Hoops to Ibrox after what was a tumultuous festive period, drawing against Motherwell and losing to St Mirren.

Brendan Rogers’s side, on the other hand, come into this derby on the back of a run of good form, having secured back-to-back 4-0 home wins against Motherwell and St Johnstone at Parkhead.

The last time these two sides met was at Hampden Park on December 15, when penalties were needed to decide who lifted the Scottish League Cup following a thrilling 3-3 result after 120 minutes.

Daizen Maeda buried the decisive spot-kick in a penalty shoot-out that finished 5-4 to the Green and White of Glasgow.

This year’s previous league meeting between these two finished 3-0 at home to the current Scottish Premiership holders Celtic, who hope to make it eight ‘Old Firm’ derbies unbeaten against Rangers.
