Police have identified a young man found dead in Magherafelt over the weekend.
His body was discovered in the Diamond area of the town on Sunday morning.
The PSNI said they believed he had gone missing in the previous 24 hours. On Sunday the police had said that the man had “no personal items that could help with identification”.
Today they confirmed that his death is not currently being treated as suspicious.
The police have thanked the public for their assistance in identifying the young man.
Speaking on Monday afternoon, a PSNI spokesperson said: “The Police Service of Northern Ireland can confirm that the man whose body was found in Magherafelt on Sunday, December 14, has now been identified.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and no crime is suspected. Police would like to thank the public for their assistance.”
