Police are investigating what is described as a “potential spiking incident” at a nightclub in Belfast city centre early on Thursday.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said one person was taken to hospital following an incident in Patterson’s Place.
In a statement, a NIAS spokesperson said a 999 call was received at 2:20am on Thursday.
One emergency ambulance crew was despatched.
“Following initial assessment and treatment at scene, one patient was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital by ambulance,” NIAS said.
The PSNI said a report was received of a potential spiking incident in Belfast city centre. Investigative enquiries remain ongoing.
