Police renew appeal over father-of-three’s death in Bangor collision

Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses following a collision that claimed the life of a Co Down father-of-three.

Alex Connor, who was 35 and from Donaghadee, died after he was struck by a car in the Upper Gransha Road area of Bangor at around 1.50am last Saturday January 11.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision, and have renewed an appeal for anyone with information or relevant dash-cam or other footage to contact them.

PSNI Detective Cherith Adair said: ”We are also very keen to speak to the drivers of a white Audi A1 and a Blue Vauxhall that were in the area just before the collision occurred; the drivers of these vehicles are witnesses who may have vital information that could help with our investigation.”

She added: “Detectives from the Collision Investigation Unit can be contacted on 101 quoting reference number 81 11/01/25.”

A funeral for Mr Connor is set to take place at S Clarke & Son’s Funeral Church in Bangor next Wednesday at noon, with mourners asked to wear Manchester United tops or something red.



A death notice describes him as the “dearly loved partner of Jennifer; much loved daddy of Honesty, Dawson and Chase; loving son of Kathy and John, brother of Linzi and Terri, nephew of William, James, Elizabeth and Alberta, and uncle of Casey, Reece and Hunter and son in law of Tracey.

It adds he “will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all the family circle.”
