Police appeal following serious crash in Co Derry

A road has reopened following a serious crash in Co Derry.

The collision happened at around 11.30am in the Ballygudden Road area of Eglinton.

Emergency services arrived at the scene, including the charity Air Ambulance, while police closed the road to motorists.

The road was later reopened, and a PSNI spokesperson said: “Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or to anyone with dash-cam or other footage that could assist with enquiries to get in touch via 10 quoting reference 675 of 25/06/24.”



The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.

SDLP Derry City and Strabane councillor Declan Norris, who is from the Eglinton area, told the Irish News: “My thoughts are with those involved in this serious crash as we await further news”.
