A man has sustained head and body injuries after being attacked at a house in Newry.

The assault happened at a property in the Iveagh Crescent area on Wednesday.

It was reported that a man called to the property shortly before 6.55pm, and upon entering he attacked the resident, who was “struck a number of times”.

The assailant is described as being approximately 5′ 10 in height, with long dark hair and was wearing a face covering and a tracksuit.



Two other men were reported as standing outside the property when the attack happened.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the assault or anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with enquires to get in touch on 101 quoting reference 1362 of 11/09/24.”
