Man escapes injury after shot fired through glass door at Coalisland house

Police said a shotgun was used in the attack

A shot has been fired through the back door of a house in Co Tyrone, shattering the glass.

The incident took place at a semi-detached house in Canal Quay in Coalisland just after midnight on Tuesday.

Police said a man who was inside the house at the time was not injured. A crime scene remained in place on Tuesday morning as police enquiries were being carried out.

A PSNI spokesperson said the damage to the door had been caused by a discharged shotgun.

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the Canal Quay or wider area at the time of the shooting and who noticed anything suspicious, or who may have doorbell or dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation, to get in touch,” said the PSNI spokesperson.
