Man arrested by police investigating attack at house in west Belfast

Police investigating an attack at a house in west Belfast that left a male with head and body injuries have arrested a 40-year-old man.

The incident happened in the Laurelbank area shortly before 7.30pm on Sunday.

It was reported that a man with crutches entered a property and assaulted a man in his 30s.

The incident continued in the street with police saying a number of pother people were involved, and the victim was left with injuries to his hand, torso and head.

The 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and police would appeal to anyone with any information or CCTV footage, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 1395 15/12/24.”
