Man arrested after claiming to have knife in Lisburn off-licence robbery

He made off on foot and was accompanied by another man who was also arrested by police

A 31-year-old man has been arrested after a robbery in a Lisburn off-licence in which he claimed to have a knife.

The incident occurred at a premises on Railway Street in the city just before 10pm on Tuesday.

Police say they received a report that ‘a man claiming to be armed with a knife entered an off-licence in the area and demanded alcohol and money from a staff member’.

He then made off on foot, accompanied by another man who was also aged 31.

Officers later arrested the two men at a nearby flat in Graham Gardens.

They were arrested on suspicion of robbery and remain in police custody.
