Four people have been injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the M2 motorway in Belfast.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision close to Duncrue Street on Friday at around 1.30pm.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said crews removed four people from a vehicle using specialist equipment.
A Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) spokesperson said they “despatched an ambulance officer, two rapid response paramedics, and two emergency ambulances to the incident”.
Several lanes of the busy motorway were blocked as a result of the crash, which led to long traffic delays in the area.
In an update on Friday evening, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Police received and responded to a report of a collision in the area shortly before 1.30pm today, Friday 31st January.
“Colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene.
“Four people were taken to hospital for medical treatment for injuries which at this stage, are not believed to be life-threatening.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the collision, and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time, and may have captured any dash cam or mobile phone footage, to contact us via 101, and quote reference number 772 of 31/01/25.”
