The funeral of a 13-year-old boy who died after a quad bike crash near Newry is due to take place on Tuesday.
Requiem Mass for Tiarnán Trainor will be celebrated in Jonesborough following his death on Friday.
The teenager, who has been remembered as a “loved and cherished son”, passed away around 24 hours after he was injured in a collision close to his Killeavy home.
He was airlifted to hospital in Belfast following the accident on the Low Road on Thursday, but later died from his injuries.
St Paul’s High School in Bessbrook said the “school community is heartbroken by the news of the death of our esteemed pupil”.
Described as a “much loved and popular Year 10 pupil”, the teenager had recently been elected by his peers to serve on the school student council.
“Tiarnán had an infectious personality and was well known throughout the school as a lorry fanatic,” the school said in a statement.
Killeavy GAC also said everyone is “heartbroken at the tragic death of our U14 player Tiarnán Trainor”.
“A young life taken too soon,” the club said.
A death notice said he was the “loved and cherished” son of Conor and Majella Campbell, Conor’s partner Sharon and Majella’s partner Scott.
Tiarnán was also described as a “much loved brother” and “devoted grandson”.
Requiem Mass will take place in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Jonesborough on Tuesday at 12.30pm followed by burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Cloughoge.
The family have asked for donations in lieu of flowers be sent to the paediatric and the intensive care unit of the RVH.
