FOR anyone living in Newry who's in need of a good laugh – which, let's face it, is likely to be just about everyone – this Saturday's double bill of stand-up comedy at The Bank should help to turn even the deepest bordertown frown upside down.

Hosted/compered/fathered by globetrotting local comic Darren Matthews, one of the men behind carry-out comedy night sensation Thirsty Thursdays at Belfast's Crescent Arts Centre, the Bank Comedy Club presents Dave Elliot of Dave Elliot's Weird Podcast and Boy Town Podcast fame plus Lurgan escapee/funnyman Micky 'off the telly' Bartlett in a 'co-headliner' scenario.

With the latter set to play his biggest ever solo date at The Ulster Hall in Belfast later this year, now's your chance to get in early and say you saw him when he still had his feet on the ground.

Tickets for the first instalment of Bank Comedy Club's new regular Saturday night slot can be secured online in advance for £8 via Tinyurl.com/bankcomedy
